How to Maintain Focus, Concentration, and Creativity

Spread the love

If you’re wondering how to maintain your momentum from World Tai Chi / QiGong Day, you can always carry on with the right music. After all, we can’t always practice Tai Chi or QiGong. We must also focus on other works and studies, with the hope that our Taijiquan / QiGong practice will enhance our productivity.

When we can, we like to have our favorite tunes in the background to help us carry on and pass the time while we work and/or study. We all have our favorite music, but How do we know what is the “right” music? What kind of music helps us to maintain our focus and concentration?

A project headed by Andrew Foust and spear headed by the Transparent Corporation has an answer. Here is the press release: Can Listening to Music Improve Focus and Concentration?

Here is a short description of their product:

Thought Sounds 2: Soundtracks For Focus Released

March 15, 2013

We are pleased to announce that the long awaited second volume of the Thought Sounds series is now available.

While the first volume of Thought Sounds brought you a library of ambient soundtracks to use for relaxation, Thought Sounds 2 gives you an unprecedented collection of mentally focusing and engaging music for use while studying, working or concentrating.

Thought Sounds 2: Focus is a large volume of royalty-free soundtracks that have been rigorously engineered to help you focus, concentrate, study and work in an optimal audio environment.

Collection Features:

  • Designed to act as effective carriers for brainwave entrainment
  • 100% Royalty Free! – Use Thought Sounds with your clients or in your commercial projects
  • Tested to loop seamlessly with the default settings of our software
  • All soundtracks are in production quality (320 kbps) mp3 format
  • Affordable, even for personal users.
  • Ideal for Focus, Studying and Working

Even without the added effects of brainwave entrainment, these soundtracks are built from the ground up to keep the listener focused and on task.

Some important traits of the collection:

  • Engineered with melodies to focus, energize and inspire the listener.
  • Designed not to distract the listener or compete for their attention.
  • Includes such a variety of music and styles that you can find the perfect track to match any goal or individual preference.

Here is an interview with Andrew Foust: Interview with Andrew Foust, Composer of Thought Sounds 2: Focus – Mind Update.

From what I gather, since the tracks are royalty free, their purpose is two fold:

  • Provide consumers and enthusiasts with a near endless supply of background music
  • Provide producers of brainwave entrainment programs and endless supply of carrier music

Therefore, these music tracks are easily process through your favorite brainwave entrainment program like Neuroprogrammer or Mind Stereo – AND, since they’re royalty free, you can use them as background music for your work, commercial spots for example.

What about The Big Picture Album?

As you might know, I produced a brainwave entrainment album in 2010, new age music tracks filled with multicultural rhythms and meditations for concentration, creative focus, and mental acuity called The Big Picture after the title track. I made this album using tools from Transparent Corporation. I combined those tools with sacred geometry math functions.

I also built the melodies and rhythms based upon my studies of the Chakra System of Ayurvedic Medicine and esoteric studies in the Judaic System. The meditations by Yehuda Berg from The 72 Names of God: Technology for the Soul happen to be based upon the Shemhamphorasch from the Judaic System.

Since each letter (of the Hebrew Alphabet) within the 72 (Angelic) Names have a specific numeric value which corresponds to specific tones and colors, each name cross correlates with the Chakra System.

Each of the 72 Names are pronounced according to their corresponding tone within the Chakra System. For example, the name, “ANI” (short for Aniel) at position 37 of the Shemhamphorasch is the name of the angel which represents “The Big Picture” according to Yehuda Berg.

“A” or aleph is pronounced at a tone close to the root chakrum. “N” or nun is pronounced at a tone close to the spleen chakrum. Since “I” or yud is represented by white which represents all colors, this is a wild card or “roll of the dice” as Andrew Foust might put it. The melodies and bridges you hear throughout The Big Picture track are based on the pronunciation of “ANI.”

Is that fun? Now you know why I don’t explain everything all at once; it might actually take away from the listening pleasure. I covered the brainwave entrainment technology earlier in the album description. All of the above fit together like hand in glove, but I have yet to explain how the technology blended so well with these esoteric bits.

That’s all for now. Please have wonderfully focused, concentrated and creative day.
