What is Remote Viewing?

As the names suggests, remote viewing (RV) is the act of viewing or seeing things at a distant place you regardless of the constraints of space and time without your ever having been to this distant place. RV is an umbrella term covering extrasensory perception (ESP) abilities such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, precognition, and postcognition.

According to Courtney Brown of the Farsight Institute: “Remote viewing is a psi-based mental process… The term “remote viewing” was used by the United States military in defense-related research projects from the 1970s through much of the 1990s. Probably because of this, the term appears to have developed a permanent place in the public’s vocabulary of psychic phenomena. However, remote viewing can mean different things to different people. It typically involves the ability of a person to perceive and describe some thing or place that is separate from him or her in space and/or time… remote viewing is not limited to visual information. Some scientists have desired to use other more general terms to describe psi functioning, such as Dr. Edwin May’s recent and useful coining of the term “anomalous cognition.” Nonetheless, the term “remote viewing” is likely to remain the term most widely recognized by many people as referring to the apparently psychic ability to describe distant places and events.1

What is the theory of Remote Viewing?

As with any extra sensory perception in parapsychology, there is no standardized theory of remote viewing. Courtney Brown of the Farsight Institute mentions the “physics of the soul” in REMOTE VIEWING: The Science and Theory of Nonphysical Perception, in passing (with no further pursuit within the single chapter offered). In regards to quantum entanglement (i.e. subatomic / energetic resonance of information between bodies at a distance), she refers to further papers published at the Farsight Institute website. Other institutes wherein she refers in chapter one of REMOTE VIEWING, have similar theories about “spooky action at a distance.”

When we look further upon Collective DNA Consciousness, there is a discussion on the link between DNA as an organic superconductor, wormholes, and vacuum domains (e.g. ball lightning). Conversely, most of us live in an incoherent state. That is to say, our conscious state exists in mindful awareness of our immediate surroundings and senses; this is because modern western society teaches us from a young age to denote as little importance as possible to our psychic abilities, therefore, these abilities are never nurtured or cultivated.

In terms of the “metaphysics of the soul,” Judaic Studies in mysticism are esoteric, but with surprising correlations to modern and ancient eastern theories of parapsychology. The premise of replicating patterns throughout the universe from micro to macro levels are ubiquitous to ancient as well as modern studies of life. This premise may be familiar to you if you have also studied the Golden Ratio or Phi from the Fibonacci Sequence wherein each number equals the sum of the previous two (e.g. 1,2,3,5,8…). Modern science has already discovered that the Phi Ratio applies at the DNA level and beyond. Ancient megalithic cultures built the pyramids, stonehenge, dolmens, supulchers, menhirs, and more as a reflection of the phi ratio within their minds. In a manner of speaking, megalithic societies were creating, altering, and shaping things on earth in a “god-like,” mysterious ways.

Within replicating patterns there is resonance. Where there is resonance within replicating patterns throughout the universe, information can be shared, no matter the distance. However, the Phi Ratio infers more specifically to form rather than function, ergo, resonant structures would serve as a conduit for further resonant functions. In the case of psychic energy, the resonant function would be psionic in nature.

Can anyone do remote viewing?

Each and every one of us already has the ability to do remote viewing. Because most of us were never encouraged to develop our latent psychic abilities when we were children, it is more usual to start to learn remote viewing as an adult. In order to start remote viewing, you have to shift your consciousness to tune your brainwaves to the proper harmonic frequencies (mid-delta to low theta); it takes practice, but every person can do it.

What is a Remote Viewing experience?

When you make a point of noticing everything you can about whatever you sense as you tune in a particular place, then mentally recording sensory imagery becomes a subconscious habit.

From my personal experience, RV comes to me in the form of lucid dreams; this may be true for most people. In the RV respect, it’s a matter of observing your target using your self control as a third party observer rather than controlling the images you see.

For example, I once lost a whole set of identification cards including state, government, and medical I.D.s; they were all together in a wallet. First I imagined any number of scenarios wherein I could have lost the wallet; that was my analytical overlay or sense of logic. Then I let all of those “logical” images go and simply focused on one particular aspect wherein one card is made of metal; I know the name and number on this card, but I focused on the shape and substance of this card as I went into “mental level delta.” I recall flashes of images that came to life somehow as the word “metal” for some reason coalesced in my thoughts.

Whereas my sense of logic told me that I had lost the wallet some where on a street as I was digging around for my cellphone, I awoke with a sudden impulse to look in my clothes hamper; this made no sense because I don’t recall putting the wallet anywhere near this clothes hamper, yet I dug deep anyway. Lo and behold, I found the wallet deep within the folds of clothes. Interesting. I had lost the wallet a few days prior, but the wallet was under at least a week of dirty clothes. Go figure.

Any colors, patterns, shapes and textures that appear to you while you are remote viewing should be given equal attention to their details. A pencil and pad of paper are handy while you are remote viewing so you can sketch out any images that you see. This will also become a resourceful learning aid for you, but this is all up to your personal strengths. Your kinesthetic impulse may simply be to “go there.”

If you are visually oriented, the images may be overly large, too small, or even two dimensional until you put things in perspective by viewing from the correct distance and angle. Depending on the objective, you may latch onto images that make no sense because they only represent clues like pieces of a large puzzle. This is where group remote viewing sessions are necessary.

You will gain a better understanding of that which you view in your sessions when you practice remote viewing on a regular basis. Remember to record your experiences of remote viewing. What exactly am I “tuning in” during remote viewing?

Gerald O’Donnell refers to this information field as the “matrix” which is all pervading throughout the universe, contains all information and performs as an information conduit.

Dr. William Tiller in his psychoenergetic experiments refers to this “matrix” as higher gauge symmetry (i.e. the primordial cosmic functions which led to our form) which contains information not only of our higher consciousness, but our original bioenergetic life patterns that we draw upon for revelation and optimum health, respectively.

In the sleep state ALL human beings rest as their brain centered linear-thinking-mind lowers its electrical activity to below 4 cycles per second. In the dark era of paranoid psy warfare between the Western and the Eastern block, very sophisticated and brilliant scientific minds had been gathered in the West in order to breach the ultimate frontier of mind/matter and affect mind-to-event viewing (Remote Viewing and Sensing which means the ability to view/sense remote events and remote locations in the screen of your own mind) and try to increase our ability to Remotely Influence present or future events (life manifestation) and people (telepathy) through mind power alone. One particular event noted as an interesting by-product of successful remote viewing was the fact that remote viewers would usually show on brain encephalographic electrical-brainwave recording machines a pattern of theta slow waves (4 to 7 cycles per second usually indicative of a very relaxed and quiet mind state) while successfully remote viewing distant targets or remote influencing events. Nothing much was made out of it in the US as most scientists were bent on finding and detecting “physical” external mind waves in the ether and not looking inside of each of us.

In 1995 a small group of former viewers started to operate in the public arena as the CIA and DIA declassified most of its Remote Viewing information to the general public.

William Ross Adey, M.D. 1922-2004, Professor of Anatomy and Physiology, Los Angeles, wrote in the 50’s about the relationship between the deep Theta state 4.5 cps and the ability to Remote Influence others. Why Do You Need to Control Stress in Your Life? Very often a primary cause of many health problems relates to stress. Dr. Hans Selye, a Hungarian doctor, documented the many negative effects of stress on the human body. Excess stress is often the pathway to disease and can come from many sources such as toxicity, trauma, allergies, harmful habits, mental states, pathogens, etc. As stress continues disease often progresses. Therefore it is of outmost importance to identify and stop stresses early to avoid diseases. Remember the saying, “An ounce of prevention is worth…” Becoming Aware of Stress in Your Life: Stress Management Basics Despite the fact that stress is one of the most common human experiences, it is surprisingly difficult to define. Scientists say that stress is a force or event that impairs normal stability, balance or functioning, and Everyone experiences it at some point in life.

People do not need to study the biology of stress to gain a practical understanding of how it affects them. If people start with the understanding that stress is an event or a force that upsets a balance, they can begin to see some of the ways that they might be affected by stress. Seeing clearly where undesirable stress occurs in one’s life is the first step in managing it. One can then examine how stress affects his or her body, emotions and thoughts. Ways Stress Affects Individuals The long-term effects of stress on one’s health are quite significant. The American Academy of Family Physicians has said that two-thirds of office visits to family doctors are prompted by stress-related symptoms. Stress is more than just a nuisance or something that occasionally makes people feel nervous or anxious.

Very stressful events have been associated with a dramatically increased risk of a heart attack. For instance, in the days following an earthquake the incidence of heart attacks increases significantly, presumably because of the stress of the earthquake.

Chronic, ongoing stress, even when it is not so dramatic, can affect one’s health in very significant ways. One common example of this is the effect of a very stressful job. Several large studies have demonstrated that a stressful job more than doubles one’s risk of a heart attack. A stressful job might lead to cigarette smoking, obesity and lack of exercise, all of which increase one’s risk for a heart attack. It is also the stress itself that directly leads to an increased risk. Stress has been associated with the risk of many other diseases, ranging from the common cold to chronic pain to some types of cancer. Stress, however, is not always bad. Some stress is inevitable and actually beneficial – such as when you put test yourself, so you can perform better under stressful conditions. Stress helps people when they need to grow, attain difficult goals and perform their best. Some degree of stress enhances performance even when individuals are not in immediate danger. An athlete in a race may perform better because of the stress of the big event.

Stress can increase performance, but only to a point. When one’s stress exceeds a certain limit, additional stress will detract from performance. Stress or nervousness before a big presentation sometimes helps one to perform better and/or think with more clarity and precision. However, if that person becomes excessively stressed and anxious, he or she will have difficulty remembering what to say.

The physical stress of swimming in very cold water helps individuals to swim harder, but only for a short time. The colder the water and harder that one swims, the more quickly he or she becomes exhausted. This is physical stress. Everyone’s tolerance for stress is different, and individuals handle various types of stress differently. It is important to recognize and respect one’s limits. People do not learn to handle stress by letting it overwhelm them and rob them of their strength.

Ideally, people would be able to adjust the amount of stress that they face so that they receive neither too much nor too little. This, of course, is not always possible. When one cannot eliminate excessive stress, the best way to manage it is to learn to maintain a balance even during a stressful event.

If people learn to recognize the warning signs of increasing stress before they reach their limit, they can cope intelligently with their stresses before their resources are all spent. THE STRESS TEST The following exercise will assist you to identify symptoms that could be stress-related in five areas of human Experience: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual.

Mark the items that you experience regularly.

If you are surprised by the number of symptoms you identify, then take immediate action to improve your overall constitution against stress: Physical or External Stress
Stress which affects the body, is the most straight forward and easy to identify. When people work too hard, stay up too late, or eat and drink too much, they feel the direct physical results of these actions. They are more likely to sleep poorly and feel tired and ill.

Some external stresses seem beyond one’s control. The stress of a job that is boring, unrewarding or excessively demanding can make one miserable and more prone to illness. However, it is more difficult to correct this kind of problem than it is to eat a healthy diet or get more sleep. When one has a medical illness, even if it is relatively minor such as a cold or the flu, it becomes increasingly obvious how this physical stress affects his or her sense of well-being and quality of life. Clearly, a major or life-threatening illness creates stress in many different dimensions of one’s life. Some physicians think that the stress that accompanies sickness is one of the major obstacles to becoming well. PHYSICAL Symptoms: Suffer from frequent headaches or migraines,

Often feel fatigued or worn out,

Fitful sleep: If awakened you find it difficult to fall asleep again,

lump in throat – difficulty in swallowing: Experience digestive upsets,

Recurrent and persistent stomach ulcers,

Exercise infrequently,

Grind your teeth,

Often engage in finger-drumming,

Increased consumption of alcohol and tobacco (or other filthy habits),

Occasionally suffer from pounding heart,

Exhibit signs of restlessness,

Frequently catch colds or flu,

Drink more than 4 cups of tea or coffee,

High Blood Pressure,

Often aware of body tension,

Accident prone,

You are overweight: Smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day,

Suffer from chest pains Regularly experience tension in back of neck or head (migraines),

Experience episodes of diarrhea,

Have twitching in face or limbs,

Suffer from dizziness, lightheadedness or faintness,

Unexplained rashes or itches of the skin,

Often take sleeping pills or tranquilizers,

Irritation or wetness around back passage (euphamism for colitis),

Excessive perspiration especially of the hands,

Take mind-altering drugs, Psychological or Emotional Stress Psychological or emotional stress may seem less concrete, but it has an equally definite effect on an individual’s health and well-being. Being able to identify areas of psychological stress is challenging, but important since they may have an even greater impact on one’s happiness than physical or external stress. When people are lonely, depressed or unhappy, they are more likely to become sick and less likely to enjoy the things that should give them pleasure.

When people have any type of stress that exceeds what they can comfortably manage, they are much more likely to become depressed and anxious. It can be difficult to identify an internal or psychological stress.

Although these inner stresses often make people feel uncomfortable, it is easier to blame something external for the discomfort. It takes a considerable amount of psychic strength to be able to consciously handle this kind of stress instead of being swept along with it. Often, the first step it is to look clearly at one’s own feelings and honestly ask oneself what it is that causes inner difficulty or pain. MENTAL Symptoms Mental attitudes are generally negative:

My Intro to Brain Wave Entrainment

Let’s discuss principles of psychoneurophysiology (PNP), the way external rhythmic sensory stimili affects the living body. I began learning about brainwave entrainment (BWE) in the early 1980’s beginning with biofeedback. I never heard about these things in school, but when I read a few articles about it, I became very curious.

I recall wishing that my school would offer classes on these subjects. I worked with a biofeedback device that I got from Edmund Scientific when I was in grade school. No teacher I knew in the psych department had expertise in the matters of PNP; they told me I would have to find a school like Stanford that dealt with neuroscience.

I had a few communications with Stanford Instructors; I asked Blas Cabreras about his SQUID device when I was in college physics. My question were about cosmic energy and how it affects the mind, but the “school of thought” was highly compartmentalized back then as it is now.

Since then, attitudes have changed towards self improvement tools such as BWE; they’ve gone mainstream as CD’s especially with the pioneering works of Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, a neurologist as well as an accomplished musician. Career wise, Dr. Thompson is where I wanted to be, had I known how to approach my academic career in my younger days. Such is life.

What is a Simple Approach to Understanding Brain Wave Entrainment?

How I wish, if only someone, anyone could have explained the basic fundamentals to us as young kids in grade school on how music affects us at deep, psychological levels. The principle of brainwave entrainment can be explained quite simply.

Teachers didn’t have to go on about cortical evoked responses or post-synaptic potentials; they simply had to tell us that a song represents an idea. Isn’t that simple? Songs are basically ideas generated from the minds of musicians. I’ll tell you what this has to do with BWE very soon.

The more people who resonate with that song/idea, the more famous that song becomes. The more we resonate with a song, the more we resonate with the feelings and consciousness generated by that song.

Imagine yourself as a musician/song writer for a moment: The primal principle of rhythms such as drum beats is meant to reflect the rhythms in nature. By the same token, brain wave rhythms are part of nature, therefore, those drum beats reflect whatever consciousness we are experiencing when we’re writing that song.

The melody as well as the words/lyrics reflects the idea in your song. The rhythm reflects the consciousness. Therefore, a song is like an idea riding on a consciousness.

Of course, a song has to reflect social mood in order to be famous. Pop music tends to reflect social mood. Top selling music and lyrics reflect mainstream social mood. We see this in young and old alike who know all the words and melody to sing along to their favorite songs.

All music contains a form of brainwave entrainment when they contain regular rhythmic / melodic structures. Music containing these regular structures can engrain an idea into anyone as long as it resonates with them.

If only someone had provided that simple explanation, I would have found the courage to bypass the careless instructors to get back into music much sooner. Such is life. Instead of lamenting, let me give you what I wish public school teachers should have given to me: A basic understanding of the way the human mind works.

How Mindfulness Works Against Peripheral Culture

Mindfulness in Medicine1 is focused on the healing accomplishments of Mindfulness, but let’s probe deeper. In this paper, let’s examine what got those mindless people in trouble in the first place – in order to help future generations.

Mindfulness in Medicine1 is an article wherein I am elaborating on the subject here. I’m relatively sure I curated it from American Monk, Burt Goldman. I want to elaborate on how we should be mindful 24/7 like a well trained martial artist, that is, if we really want to take advantage of mindfulness.

In direct opposition, some people are mindless; You know who I’m talking about. A few choice words describe them as thoughtless, careless, arrogant, lack of respect. On the other side of the coin, they can also be burnouts who live in a kind of vacuum – especially for the people around them.

Mindless people tend to exemplify left brained behaviors2 (based in fear) as opposed to Mindful people who exemplify right brained behaviors2 (based in love).

Let’s examine mindfulness versus mindlessness in mainstream society.

Where is Your Focus when You are Truly “Mindful?”

When I first read The Mind in the Martial Arts: A key to winning3 by Thomas Nardi decades ago as a youngster, it gave me perspective. By adjusting my focus, I saw how other people were focused around me. According to what I learned from Thomas Nardi, there are many elements to our focus, but the three most important are:

  • Self Awareness
  • Awareness of Your Present Environment
  • Awareness of the Way You are Interacting with Your Present Environment

These three aspects as your main focus are the epitome of mindfulness. The top three key areas of focus are quite simple, really. A person doesn’t have to be a martial artist to have this awareness. In the wild animal kingdom, we always observe this epitome of awareness. For this reason, well trained martial artists are usually cat-like in their perceptions, movements, and reflexes.

I would say that everyone else are “dog people,” except dogs have far more awareness than mindless people. Awareness is key to mindfulness which is why animals usually don’t get as sick as their human counter parts.

Our focus is on mindfulness versus mindlessness; what if we try to be like the well trained martial artists (and QiGong Experts) who manage to stay healthy using their real world perceptions and intentions? Why are we NOT mindful like them 24/7?

How was mindfulness bred out of us?

As you see from the few examples at Mindfulness in Medicine1, when patients were questioned, they were either mindless, or focused on the negative. OK. How did they get that way?

Do you believe we started out that way? Observe human babies. Do they seem mindless? Unfortunately, if you are a mindless person, then you are in the business of projecting your mindlessness to others. I didn’t write this paper for you, anyway. Since you are a mindful person who probably likes babies, then you will notice that babies display the epitome of awareness. They have:

  • Self Awareness wherein they also let us know their feelings – like when they’re hungry and how it feels.
  • Awareness of Their Present Environment; they are perceptive of everything that enters their senses – and disregard everything outside of that perception.
  • Awareness of the Way They Interact with Their Present Environment; they always explore and experiment with how things feel or work.

From what I’ve observed, all babies are mindful, human or otherwise. Then how did mindfulness get bred out of us? Culture.

What is it in our culture that removed our birth right to mindfulness?

Allow me to reference Nature’s Mind, the Quantum Hologram4 for a moment. Technically, it’s a bit over the top. Essentially, it speaks of three information carriers within our senses, the truthfulness of which depend solely on our mindfulness:

  1. Perception
  2. Attention
  3. Intention

Within each aforementioned stage of awareness, we have all three of the above information carriers. If we distort any of them, we become out of touch with reality. When all of these information carriers get distorted, we become out of touch with reality:

  1. within ourselves,
  2. of our present environment
  3. of the way we live and interact with our present environment – including the people around us.

Because of this, mindless people live in a distorted reality. Examples are plentiful of mindless people who are constantly distorting reality; they are reckless, stumbling, getting into accidents, misjudging the world around themselves, doing and saying mindless things while misjudging actions and intentions of other people. They get into trouble as a result and involve whomever they can in their misery.

Mindless people are not interested in basic laws of the universe that don’t align with their own. For example, even when educated in chemistry, they still believe that water boils at more than one temperature.

Mindless people tend to ignore their own senses

Mindless people get into trouble because they don’t agree with universal reality, so they tend to ignore their own senses. One example is block quoted at Restore Vision Naturally with Simple Exercises5. Mindless people prefer to rely on their peripheral vision rather than look directly at others; this is a completely mindless, counter-intuitive behavior that can only get them INTO trouble rather than keep them OUT OF trouble – especially in a potentially dangerous situation.

For example, when they drive cars and (un)intentionally turn them into 2000 pound weapons. Recently, in my area, a car drove from a stop light, over a curb, through a picket fence, and ploughed through a house a further fifteen feet away; there were no reports of the driver having a heart attack or being elderly.

Mindless people tend to treat others around them as ‘periphery’ or ‘secondary.’ Their information carriers are distorted, so they focus wherever they have the best success of focussing – which is usually themselves and their own version of reality. In essence, mindless people feel self important – because they are not very good at denoting importance to others.

Mindless People want things Easy

On the other hand, when others denote importance to them by agreeing with their perspective (e.g. throwing rocks at their enemies), mindless people will greet strangers with open arms; it does not matter if that stranger only wants to take advantage. Judging people on the periphery is easy.

In fact, a peripheral culture is convenience oriented. Within this culture, they tend to take the easiest route. For example, they cut corners, take short cuts, and have others do their work whenever possible. A culture of periphery designs and reproduces itself; like any other culture, the predecessors teach the next generation. But what are they teaching the next generation about life?

For this reason, we run into mindless people who couldn’t care less about who or what is around them at any particular moment as they seem to be “tranced” into their own space; they usually dwell on frivolous subjects, just want to get through this “horrible day,” or this “horrible thing” known as life.

Why are there people who rely only on their peripheral vision?

As discussed at Improving the Sight6: “Sight consists of three processes: Sensing, Selecting, and Perceiving. Only the first of these, sensing, has anything to do with the eyes. Selecting and perceiving take place entirely in the brain.” Evidently, judging people, places, and things on the periphery is easier on the neural pathways of mindless people.

By the same token, what made life so horrible for mindless people? How did they become so mindless and/or so negative about life? Exactly because they perceive all of life and creation on the periphery.

How to be Sinful in a Peripheral Culture

Cultures perpetuate their perspectives through behavior modification. Ours is no exception: When parents see a behavior in their child they don’t like, they punish that child. Therein, we have generation after generation of parents through the eons punishing children for behaviors they don’t like.

But what happens when that behavior is part of their awareness exploration? What happens when children sense, select, and perceive something that parents or teachers don’t want children to perceive? What happens when their young, impressionable perceptions, attentions, and intentions become distorted via punishment, brow beating, or some other trauma?

We all have self-awareness of one particular aspect of ourselves since childhood. That self-awareness generated a behavior that mindless, life negative parents don’t like. Our most important self awareness started with our sexuality. But mindless people, through their distorted sense of reality, treat this universal function as pornographic.

For mindful people, the sexual function is about love and healing. For mindless people, the sexual function is all about sin.

When children are punished (rather than nurtured and educated) for wanting to explore their sexuality, the same function which gave them life, the resulting distortion of their senses precipitate every bizarre disease and stress related disorder imaginable into their adulthood. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction extends to many medical arenas for this reason. Unfortunately, mindless people who feel they don’t need help repeat the cycle.

Mainstream Culture only wants Mainstream Reality

Anything outside the Comfort Zone of Peripheral Culture is treated as “Periphery”

For the reader’s perspective, I’m going to funnel downwards towards the behavior we see from mindless people starting with mainstream science versus “fringe science.”

When I was in my senior year of high school, I found the works of Dr. Wilhelm Reich which gave me perspective in dealing with my own self-awareness. He was a 1950’s psychologist who explored the fringe science of his day that mainstream science dare not touch, even today.

Reich understood disease in terms of character and physical “armor;” this “armor” begins with the distortion of the sexual function at a young age. Of those to whom I refer as mindless and life negative, Reich called “emotional deserts.” If only he explored sexology from eastern cultures, then he would have found corroborating data.

Sexual Healing Mind: Taoist Sexology Education7 not only explores the sexual function as a healing function of love, it compares the human plane of existence to the great order and functions of the universe such as those discussed at The Holographic Paradigm8. I believe Reich would have found Taoist Sexology interesting because the focus is on healing.

As it is, Reich was persecuted and wrongfully imprisoned for his trouble of curing hundreds of people from all kinds of stress related disease including cancer; he also influenced future generations of scientists with his research in aether dynamics including his inventions of the radiosonde and photometer.

Just as it is today, the “fringe” works of Reich and similar like Nikola Tesla, Royal Raymond Rife, Ruth Drown, and others whom I discuss at Bioenergetic Spectrum9 are treated as periphery by mainstream scientists. To be exact, “fringe science” is dismissed by mainstream scientists, not because it does not provide corroborating data, but because it does not fit within their paradigm; “fringe science” threatens their emotional securities about the way life, the universe, and everything works.

What is the Funnel Effect in Peripheral Culture?

  • Mainstream Academia is only interested in delivering mainstream research to their students.
  • Mainstream media is only interested in delivering mainstream ideas to their audience.
  • Mainstream commerce is only interested in delivering mainstream goods to their customers.

For the sake of simplicity, let’s apply one concept which threatens the emotional securities of peripheral culture: Universal Order.

What is universal order? Examples are provided at The Holographic Paradigm8 and Nature’s Mind, the Quantum Hologram4. In essence, we are all reflections of the universe down to the quantum functions within our microtubules within every cell of our bodies and between every synapse. Each of us is modeled after the whole universe. In turn, this implies a universe filled with life, order, and intelligence.

There is also the golden (phi) ratio as explored in the architecture of ancient antiquities (e.g. pyramids, stonehenge circles, etc), then discovered in nature as found in the Fibonacci Series. The ancient cultures were simply repeating the mathematical progression they found in nature – mainly them own.

(Today, the Socionomics Institute makes best use of the golden section in predicting the stock market according to social mood.)

The peripheral academic funnel

In academia, universal order and our part in it is treated as periphery or fringe. For this reason, they consider such an idea as universal order ineffectual. So mainstream academicians relegate the subject to philosophy classes wherein the teachers spout off ineffectual ideas and terms that have nothing to do with life as we know it. As a result, universal order is nothing more than periphery to mainstream students.

You see, the mindless, careless, life-negative people in control of education would prefer to believe that we all live in an accidental universe wherein humanity is an accident. Mainstream academicians would prefer to believe that we are nothing more than accidental meatsacks in a mostly dead universe: That a living person is nothing more than a collection of neurochemical functions. That a living body is worth not much more than the “dust” from whence it came.

And this is the philosophy they teach to generation after generation of impressionable, young minds. As far as a student knows, once he/she has reached the higher echelons of mainstream education, there is no such thing as universal life, intelligence, or order. We are all “accidental specks of life” according to their peripheral education.

Are you still wondering what is the source of the numbness, the coldness, the mindlessness, the negativity? The Horror?

We are born mindful. Therein, in our childhood, we denoted mindfulness to people, places, and things all around us. We all had mindful innocence and awareness waiting to be honed into wisdom and understanding through the correct teachings.

Today, students are being taught to rebel, march away from their educational opportunities into the streets, and riot/protest against whatever and whomever they disagree, whenever they can with reckless abandon. Even worse, mainstream / radical left educators are the ones teaching them and giving example of how to commit violence against people with ideas contrary to their own.

All of this is happening in a country that is supposed to protect freedom of speech. The line is drawn at the clear and present danger that speech represents, but those speakers are not getting a chance. Of course, this is only my personal observation here in California. (And the current Governor of CA has never taken a stand against any of the violence.)

Are violent protest gangs marching the streets while destroying other people’s property and causing bloody fights interested in any kind of order? Much less universal order? Or our place in the universe? Please tell me if I missed something.

The peripheral media funnel

Mainstream media is controlled information, pure and simple. The news actors and actresses raise our awareness of only certain human issues. When mainstream news reports the truth, it’s from a very narrow perspective.

For example, there have been weather related disasters all over the world, threat of oil and corexit poison in the Gulf after Hurricane Harvey, threat of world wide radiation poisoning from Fukushima, but U.S. Mainstream News gets stuck on the aftermath of Mexico’s earthquakes. No need to wonder if news actors will ever talk about how geoengineering10 goes against the grain of universal order. They only report what the teleprompter tells them; they’re just doing their jobs.

Mainstream movies, documentaries, TV Series, etcetera, are all made to fit narrow perspectives. When is the last time you heard of any big screen movie or TV show advertise universal intelligence as a high light? When is the last time a best seller high lighted universal order?

As a result, mainstream audiences are stuck in trivial pursuit; they worry about their favorite movie celebrities. They worry about their favorite pro athlete celebrities. They worry about games, movie plots, and TV shows. They worry what’s on their cellphones.

After that, they worry about their jobs, their families, their financial security. Then, most of all, they worry about their emotional security. Afterall, mainstream media – especially those drug commercials – taught them that emotional security is more important than anything. A mindless person would gladly give up his health, wealth, and freedom then sell his soul for emotional security.

The peripheral commerce funnel

Commerce is an extention of academia and media; they tell us what to buy, then we buy it. If a mindless person believes that eating hot pizza with coca cola, then taking the newest anti-depressant drugs while driving the newest SUV and jiggling to the newest scent of glade makes them look attractive and fashionable, then that’s what they do.

How can commerce possibly be involved with universal order?

The economy is run according to the way people have been inducted by academia and media. The economy is perpetuated by the corporations people support through their work and investment, the durable and non-durable goods they buy, and the further bills and taxes they pay to support the infrastructure.

Let’s play “mindful vs. mindless” person

Economic infrastructure is too big to consider all the decisions a mindful person would make as opposed to a mindless person, so I’ll give my readers an example.

Allow me to relate an interaction to you between a young husband and wife. I over heard their small conversation over ten years ago, but it stays with me to this day.

They were both shopping for cooking oil at a supermarket. The wife said, “I wonder which would be the best oil?” The husband said, “Let’s just take this one.” Wherein he grabbed the largest bottle of vegetable oil, put it in the cart, and strolled away with a, “Let’s Go!” to his wife.

Clearly, the husband was in a hurry, whereas, the wife standing there with arms folded wanted to examine all the options. That is, I assumed they were married until the guy’s nonchalent attitude towards whom I thought was the wife.

Trick question: In that moment, which one was mindful? Which one was mindless?

Cooking oil may seem to be a trivial thing – unless you are mindful about the source and what you are going to do with it. You see, mindful people may be blamed for “over-thinking.” Personally, I would prefer to be blamed for “over thinking” rather than being “mindless.”

In reality, mindful people, in a split second, can get a sense of a food product just by looking at it. Then they want to know a product in depth by looking at it’s ingredients.

Besides having empathy, sympathy, and compassion, a mindful person is well studied about what food product is healthy or unhealthy, sustainable or unsustainable.

In that split second, a mindful person knows those pristine looking vegetable oils contain free radicals like toxic isomers because they were chemically processed, super heated or both to extract the oil.

A mindful person has empathy for farmers unfairly treated by corporate farms spreading genetically modified organisms11 into their fields. A mindful person has sympathy for the honey bees which suffer from herbicides and pesticides that go into “protecting” the GMO crops for the super processed, industrial oil.

A mindful person has compassion for her family and friends, so she would prefer to share a healthy food product with them.

Understandably, some people can’t afford everything healthy like organic virgin oils, but when they are mindful, they make all of their purchases count.

In the last few years, more people are becoming health conscious, so they are buying more organic virgin oils. In terms of commerce, there’s been a sort of economic shift. When I say “sort of,” I mean the big food producers always want a piece of the action, so they may have been greasing the palms of USDA inspectors to have looser organic standards.

And this doesn’t necessarily mean mindless people have suddenly become mindful; they want to be trendy, so they follow trends. Following trends instead of thinking on their own is less taxing on their brains.

But you should have an idea of what I mean by universal order in this example: You are what you eat. We reflect the workings of the universe as part of universal order. We also reflect the food chain of which we take part. Mindful people reflect their part of the food chain. Mindless people reflect their part of the food chain.

Mindful people are healthy; they reflect a healthy food chain which is part of a healthy world in a healing universe. The universal ability to heal is one of the most important facets of universal order.

Mindless people are toxic; they reflect a toxic food chain which is part of a culture which distorts the senses. Since there is little or no healing involved, the mindless world is not sustainable; it goes against the grain of universal order.

Mindless people have such toxic attitudes that they actually want food products to be classified as drugs if someone labels them as healing.

Peripheral Order vs. Universal Order

But mindless people do have order: Their order, Their reality. In their reality, no matter how unethical they are, they believe they are more ethical than anyone else around them. No matter how dirty they are, they will always believe they are “cleaner” than anyone else around them. No matter the mess they make for others to clean, they will always believe they are more productive than anyone else. The imbalance from toxins makes them delusional.

Within their delusions, if another person does not share their reality, then there’s “something wrong with them.” And they will always point their accusing fingers at others for wrong doing – to keep the heat off themselves, of course.

I am reminded of a description of these people from certain Bible Chapters. Look up 2 Timothy, Chapter 3 and Psalms 73. Mindlessness has been around for millenia, but Mindfulness has been around since the beginning.

Imagine if, instead, we extend mindful buying decisions to every part of commerce. What would be the result in society? A world of empathy, sympathy, compassion, and health? You tell me.

How Can Mindfulness Advance Humanity?

Mindfulness is already advancing humanity as a healing modality. As mindful people, we focus on simple things in the present. A mindful culture has conscious awareness within themselves, with their environment, and the way they interact with it.

Does a mindful culture have intentions of healing and productivity? Why not? The mindfulness classes in those integrative medicine clinics are proof. Would a mindful culture be more healing and productive than a mindless culture? I bet my life on it.

Let’s take one ingredient that goes into making a society – like we did with the cooking oil. How would a mindful culture treat one particular facet of humanity that has been treated as periphery by mindless culture?

I already touched upon sexuality. And you know as well as I do how sexuality is treated in peripheral culture.

The facet I want to cover is considered intangible and immeasureable by mainstream science. Peripheral culture treats this facet of humanity as ineffectual or vestigial – like universal order. Ironically, the subject is a major topic in the shadows of the mainstream. Mainstream academia even gave it a fringe specialty, same as their philosophy classes.

I’m talking about psychic phenomena.

Yes, there are people trained in mentalism and neurolinguistic programming to make it seem as if they have psychic powers. Mindful people have a better sense of reality than mindless people; their perception, attention, and intuition better serves them than their mindless counter parts. In contrast, mindful people also seem to have psychic powers.

Within The Mind in the Martial Arts3, there’s a conscious awareness method when facing an opponent in an unknown environment. This method requires photographic memory training exercises which, in themselves, makes a proficient student seem “psychic.”

This conscious awareness method requires a student to take mental pictures of his surroundings. Then he imagines observing himself and others from different perspectives within this environment. Using this method, he imagines how others can approach him from diffent vantage points using potential weapons.

A mindless person might say, “You’re making people paranoid!” In reality, a well trained martial artist maintains conscious awareness in order to avoid conflict.

A mindful person maintains conscious awareness of themselves, their environment, and the way they interact with their environment. In doing this, they also avoid conflict at all three levels of awareness. In turn, their conscious awareness allows them to maintain health and harmony at all three levels of awareness.

For this reason, mindful people are trustworthy in their actions and observations. Because logic and order are their strengths they produce better results in any particular situation than mindless people. Because their beliefs are based in love, they are better at listening and problem solving, yet humble and reserved.

In contrast, mindless people are conniving, deceptive, and loud. Mainstream media focuses on opinions of mindless people because mindless people can only have harmony with mindless people – until they stab each other in the back.

As you see, I have yet to actually touch upon psychic phenomena. I only have to point out the mental alacrity of mindful people – which makes them superior and “psychic” in contrast to mindless people.

The next step for mindful people is to actually explore psychic powers like telepathy, remote viewing, etcetera. The only barrier is the loud, mindless people standing in their way.

A Mindfulness Exercise with Healing Intentions

Imagine if we could heal peripheral culture just a little at a time using baby steps, the same as a mindfulness class. Imagine treating all of humanity as one body that needs to be healed of a disease or infection.

Our healing begins when we become aware of smaller things first: Our feelings about the illness, our perspective of the illness, the way we breathe because of the illness. We must take our time in becoming aware of the smallest, seemingly insignificant things that may be the source of the illness. Then we focus deep within ourselves.

Using different orders of magnitude, we can meditate at the cellular level and observe the interactions – as a form of remote viewing. We have studied the illness, so we can see the underlying cause. We can observe the interactions between our healthy and infected cells.

We perceive the cause and give it our attention. Then we continue the healing process with correct breathing with the intention of healing ourselves.

There are more steps involved. As you can see, mindfulness requires intense discipline with intentions of love and healing, a quality deeply lacking in peripheral culture.

Perhaps, when there are enough mindful people, there can be a real shift in humanity.

The internet has undoubtedly plunged us into something of a revolution [1]. It’s brought great change to the world – the scale of which we cannot yet quite see, as we are still feeling our way through this brave new world. Many of these changes are positive – we are more able than ever before to connect with people on the other side of the world, many of us have opportunities for learning and advancement which simply would not have been possible a few decades ago, and access to information has never been more unfettered. However, the internet is not without its dark sides. ‘Trolling’, the general dissemination of hate [2], and a loss of trust in information sources [3] are just a few of the problems caused by the internet – problems which we’re struggling to understand and control. However, some also believe that the internet and digital devices also pose a serious risk to our health – particularly our mental and cognitive health. Is the internet really changing our brains? If so – how?

Mobile Devices And Cognitive Overload

Mobile devices are very useful indeed. Gone are the days when people could easily get ‘stuck’ with no means of contacting help. However, they do frequently replace the problems they solve with new ones. Once, being splashed by a car or falling in a lake was an annoyance at worst, funny at best. Now, it’s a potentially expensive disaster if your phone/tablet is on you and it’s not covered against water damage [4]. Perhaps more worrying, however, is the fact that we’re arguably becoming slaves to our devices, and the internet to which they give us access. Those constant notifications, the need to check up on our social media posts, the impulse to pull out our phones and research a random thought the second it occurs – all of these leave our brains with very little ‘mental downtime’. While digital technology is progressing incredibly fast, evolution proceeds at its usual, aeons-long pace. Our brains simply did not evolve to be effectively plugged in to a world of interaction and information 24/7. Without the time it needs to ponder, take stock, and rest on its own, our brains are put under intense pressure. What is more, the fact that the internet has made a lot of things ‘easier’ means that we’re actually increasing our workload by trying to simultaneously do 10 things which would previously have required travel, time, and a reasonable amount of (one-to-one) attention paid to them.  As such, our brains are getting ‘overloaded’ – and our thought processes are becoming far less efficient [5].

Digital Reliance And Internet Addiction

Our brains work best when they’re given exercise. The more we consider things for ourselves, the more neural connections our brains make, and the better we become at thinking in general. Problem solving and critical thinking, however, are arguably endangered in the era of the internet. Why? Simply because the internet, theoretically, has all the answers. While there’s nothing wrong with using the internet to research a problem, collate sources, analyse data and so on, simply heading online to find the answer to a problem means that your brain is not doing the work itself. And the more we get used to having the ‘answers’ spoon-fed to us, the less able we are to think critically [6] about what we’re being told. To take this further, it should be noted that getting information (and social media validation) online gives our brains a certain ‘buzz’ which can, if one uses the internet heavily enough, become ‘addictive’. Internet addiction – already a big problem in Asia [7] – is just as damaging as many other addictions (if not more so, due to the ubiquity of the internet).

What Can You Do?

So what can you do to prevent yourself from falling prey to internet-based problems? Well, there’s no need to give up the internet entirely, but it may be a good idea to cut down on usage. Limit your internet visits to those which are strictly necessary. Try not to have too many browser tabs open at once. Stick to concentrating on the matter in hand rather than letting your mind and your mouse wander. And give your brain plenty of no-internet time. Meditate, go for phone-free walks, read books, exercise – these will give your brain a chance to calm down and build new connections without the danger of cognitive overload. And, always, think critically about what you’re reading.

Mind The Health of Your Body

Physical Health Contributes to Mental Ability

If you have come to this website, it is likely that you are interested in your mind, in healing it, improving it, and making it work for you in new ways. You may not be so concerned about your body (beyond basic functionality and perhaps some cosmetic concerns). However, mind and body are, in fact, intricately, inextricably connected [1]. The one does not work separately from or at the expense of the other – quite the reverse! If you wish to improve your mind, it can really, really help to improve the health of your body in the process.

What is the problem with Dichotomous Thinking?

There is a bit of a problem in the modern world with Dichotomous Thinking [2], or ‘black and white thinking’ – i.e. seeing things as working in opposition to one another, rather than as the interconnected whole the world actually is. This is particularly evident in our attitude towards body and mind. Picture, if you will, somebody with the ‘perfect body’ – someone strong, someone fit, someone who puts a lot of effort into making their body the best it can be. Now picture someone with an excellent mind – someone who enjoys learning, who knows a lot, an intellectual.

We’re willing to bet that the ‘perfect body’ person you pictured came with a certain set of assumptions  – most prominent among them being that they aren’t particularly bright [3]. Similarly, your ‘excellent mind’ person probably was not a prime physical specimen. This shows just how dichotomised our thinking about body and mind actually is. We assume that those with good bodies are ‘dumb jocks’, or otherwise deficient in the brain department. And we assume that intellectuals are physically weak, or unattractive. It’s as though we somehow believe that building physical health comes at the direct expense of mental prowess, and vice versa. In fact, the absolute opposite is true [4].

How are We Interconnected Humans?

The brain is an organ like any other. It requires nutrients, good circulation, oxygen, and hydration. Quite simply, the better able your body is to supply these, the better able your brain is to do its job. The same is true of your body. Your mental state has a huge impact on the state of your body – either by raising or reducing motivation and willpower to exercise and eat healthily, or by actively lowering things like immune response (it is proven, for example, that stress and depression have a negative impact on your body’s ability to fight off disease [5]). Take conditions like alcoholism, for example. Alcoholism is a mental illness which has an enormous impact upon the body, and which requires both physical and mental approaches to treat it effectively [6]. As such, anyone wanting to improve their mind must simultaneously start taking their physical health seriously. To concentrate solely on the more cerebral and psychological aspects of self-healing and self-improvement is to miss out half the picture.

What Can We Do to Increase the Health of Our Minds?

So, in order to reach your mental potential, you must treat your physical self with respect. This means making certain sacrifices, and taking up certain initiatives. As a general rule, what’s good for the heart is good for the brain. So, eat plenty of healthy fruits and vegetables, and try to avoid over-processed or sugary foodstuffs. Keep yourself well-hydrated, and don’t overindulge, calorie-wise. Try and exercise as much as you can. Exercise outdoors is particularly effective, as being within natural surrounds is proven to enhance your mental health and intellectual capabilities [7]. Exercise such as walking and yoga can also be combined with meditation, providing a ‘double whammy’ of benefits for both body and mind. All in all, it’s a good idea to make a full-scale effort to change all areas of your life, in order to bring the full benefit in the area you desire.

How to Defeat Toxic Stress: Peace of Fantasy or Reality?

The following fable has resided at Holy Life, HealingMindN for years because I believe it provides an important lesson:

There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace.

Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two he really liked, and he had to choose between them… One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace…

The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all…

But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest.

There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest- in perfect peace…

Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why? “Because,” explained the king, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

Memory Aid to Visitors of Multiple Mentalism

In response to the consistent number of visitors to the multiple mentalism exercise to commit 50 three letter words to memory, forwards and backwards, I would like to provide you with a memory aid from Harry Lorayne’s Book which I discuss at How to Develop a Super Power Memory eBook.

At the same page, I provide a suggestion for memorizing 50 words using the Peg and Link System. Unfortunately, that suggestion may be too cryptic to most people to take an interest, so I have published (almost) an entire chapter at Super Power Memory Excerpt: Peg System of Memory.

The Peg System of Memory exerpted from How to Develop a Super Power Memory by Harry Lorayne, the man with the most powerful memory in the world, show’s you a sample of how to use your wonderful imagination to memorize any list in any order.

Allow me to elaborate on how we can recall any list of three letter words using this system. (I will “hold your hand” for the first ten like Harry Lorayne – whereas, Harry Kahne does not hold hands.)

Forming 3-Letter Words from Peg System of Memory

Here are the first 10 phonetic pegs. Each phonetic consonant pronunciation represents a number wherein the vowels only give the words meaning (“w,” “h,” and “y” have no numeric value in this system, like vowels):

  1. tie
  2. (Noah)
  3. ma
  4. rye
  5. law
  6. (shoe)
  7. cow
  8. ivy
  9. pie or bee
  10. toe(s)

You are silly if you don’t use the phonetic pegs wherever they are three letter words, but, if you prefer, use the suggestions here. Please try to follow the (il)logic to form the first list of ten words:

  1. If you don’t use “tie,” it can be attached to a concrete thing like “eye” or an action like “spy.” (Yes, they rhyme, but the sillier the association, the easier it is to remember, thus, the longevity of “Monty Python.”) Imagine a tie made of eyes or ties made for your eyes, for example.
  2. From “Noah,” we can link it to “ark,” “boa,” “row,” or “sea,” if we want to be logical or “doG” if we want to be silly. (Try a quote from holy scripture using “doG.”)
  3. “Ma” can be associated with “maw” (a gaping dark opening that threatens to swallow one up) or “paw.” Imagine your mother with paws, for example. I’m not going near maw.
  4. If you don’t use “rye,” it can be attached to “sky,” “dye,” “fly,” “shy,” etc. (Whatever you’re not using for higher numbers since fly = 85 according to the peg/link system.) Imagine a sky full of rye instead of clouds, for example.
  5. If you don’t use “law,” then associate it with “sex;” imagine sex police. Or you can match it with “jaw,” if you want to be logical. (A jaw quoting the law.)
  6. “Shoe” can be linked to “poo” since we step in it or “art” if you want to be silly. Imagine the Statue of David wearing a shoe where it counts…
  7. If not using “cow,” try “bat” and imagine bat wings on a cow or “row” and imagine oars rowing where the horns should be.
  8. “Ivy” can be replaced with “box,” if you want to be logical or “arm,” if you want to be silly. Imagine ivy growing where one of your arms should be.
  9. Personally, I would use “pie” or “bee,” but, if you prefer, imagine the “sun” as a giant pie or bee – or what about a “gun” that shoots pie? Or a bee as a “nun?”
  10. “Toes” can just be “toe” or imagine a “hoe” that replaced the toes or a “bow” made of toes, etc.

Why Not Go with a Logical Sequence instead of Memorizing?

Naturally, a kid might say, “why not just come up with a bunch of three letters words in order of the alphabet?” (i.e. bad, cad, dad, fad, had, lad, mad,.. bat, cat, fat, hat, mat, etc.)

When we have to memorize things, those memories usually have little to do with what we consider a “logical sequence” or a “logical conclusion;” Actual memories of an event, person, place, or thing are non-linear and non-sequitor. For example, when we make a grocery list and go to the store to shop for those things, there’s little chance of finding anything in the same sequence as our list. (BTW: The list need only exist in your mind once you learn the peg and link system.)

Balance Your Left and Right Brains

By using Harry Lorayne’s Peg System of Memory, you bypass your logic sentry which tends to dismiss silly ideas – because silly ideas are key to your super power memory.

Consider it a balancing act between left and right brains. When our “logic sentry” gets “stumped” by illogical things, we end up being confused for a moment – something that happens when we tend to be left-brained/logical all the time.

By the same token, there’s are mind control experts (e.g. JK Ellis/Dantelion) who teach their students how to “stump” the “logic sentry” of others. By empowering your memory through creativity, certain others will fail to take advantage of your “logic sentry” because you will also have a “creative sentry.”

A pessimist might say, “what if a person gets caught up in silly ideas?” If that happens, you can be a creative director for your own comedy show like Monty Python, but as long as you’re mentally stable and you’re not high on drugs of any sort, then you will be fine.

The first 10 phonetic pegs that you see at The Peg System of Memory provide all the rules to form words. For example, 88 = fife, 99 = pipe, etc. I’m sure that Mr. Lorayne prefers that we form our own pegs, but, if you prefer, you can download his book to see all the memory pegs he provides for us.

Please follow the exercises from Harry’s Book, The Peg System of Memory for they are like learning to “ride a bike” or “tie a shoe lace;” “41-97-1-6-50.”

7 Keys to Happiness Kung Fu

Before I cover the seven keys to happiness kung fu, allow me to cover my inspiration.

Over a month later after watching a happiness documentary on PBS, I’m just now getting around to addressing it. The documentary was “Happy” by Roko Belic. Heather McIntosh did an excellent summary of this PBS special wherein she deems it a “self help book made into a movie.”

The one stand out point for me and the reason that concerns human society in general was the segment on Bhutan; this country boasts a Gross National Happiness Index instead of a Gross National Product index.

Instead of focusing on markets and capital, Bhutan places its priorities on its people’s happiness first. For the most part, the Bhutans seemed for focused upon cultural and religious activities, but these were the only activities the cameras were capturing – nothing behind closed doors at work or personal lives.

Focussing on a Gross National Happiness Index may seem silly to westerners and most investers, but the Socionomics Institute has made interesting studies and very real correlations between social moods/trends and national economy – from financial success to repression.

Although Bhutan is a small Himalayan constitutional monarchy that made the transition from absolute monarchy to parliamentary democracy in March 2008 with one of the world’s smallest and least-developed economies, it seems that Bhutan’s focus is correct because the side effect is a 9.7% growth in their GDP as of 2014.

For this reason, I went on a quest for the ultimate guide to happiness that anyone can use for themselves and to share with others as far and wide as possible, so that happiness can spread like a refreshing summer wind.

I researched a number of lists. I was happy with two in particular: “13 Tips for Living Happy, Wild, and Free” by Dr. Joseph Mercola and “Ten Keys to Happier Living” from Action for Happiness.

How to Eliminate Stress and be Happy for the Holidays

Dr. Joseph Mercola discusses important points concerning stress and anxiety in his article:

I don’t hear much from the self improvement, personal growth gurus about the essential physical aspects of guarding against anxiety. Usually we hear about using affirmations, NLP, hypnosis, guided meditation, and other relaxation techniques if not anti-depressants or other drugs.

Besides emotional freedom techniques (an energy psychology modality), Dr. Mercola emphasizes:

  • Healthy Gut Flora
  • Regular Exercise
  • (NOT) Drugs

If there’s anything that most of us have time for, it’s the above three: Take probiotics and exercise regularly if you want to help yourself stay mentally healthy. Drugs eventually take us in the wrong direction, so please avoid them.

Please visit Dr. Mercola’s article for important solutions. Same as Dr. Mercola, I have also discussed in previous posts how our stomachs are like a “second brain” in terms of psychoneuroimmunology. Our gut bacteria suffers when we eat junk foods including processed meats. Considering the variety and quantity of foods of which we indulge during the Holidays, this is a good time of year for probiotics and vitamin C.
